LONG AN LEADS MEKONG DELTA REGION IN FDI ATTRACTION
Currently, Long An has 28 industrial zones with a combined area of 10,000 hectares; 16 of the zones are operational with occupancy rates of 50%.
The province has attracted 680 projects from 34 countries and territories with a total registered capital of US$4.5 billion to date. Of these, 414 projects have come into stable operation.
That was an increase of 10 projects and US$533 million over the previous year.
To attract more FDI, the region needs to take effective measures to improve human resources and infrastructure quality.

Vietnam’s crude steel production rose 26.9 percent year on year to 15.18 million metric tons in the first half of 2026, supported by stronger infrastructure spending, construction activity and a recovering property market, industry data showed. Vietnam has approved a development plan through 2035 for its international financial centers, with the one in Ho Chi Minh City positioned as a comprehensive global financial hub. Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Van Thang, chairman of the governing board of the Vietnam International Financial Center, has signed the decision approving the development plan.
